According to city officials, the water main burst and caused a system-wide pressure issue. Crews are working to catch up with pump operations and repair the break as quickly as possible.
As a precaution, all residents and businesses served by the Linton water system are under a boil advisory until further notice. During the advisory, customers are encouraged to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice, or preparing food.

A Jasonville man faces felony charges after police responded to a reported domestic disturbance early June 12.
Three juveniles reported missing have been located safely, according to local authorities. Earlier in the day, the Jasonville Police Department requested the public's assistance in locating 14-year-old Amelia Powell, who was reported as a runaway after being last seen in the Jasonville area. At the same time, the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office was seeking information on siblings Zachariah Masey, 16, and Savanna Masey, 14, who had left the Dugger area during the overnight hours and were believed to be traveling on bicycles.

The City of Linton Water Department will be repairing a 12-inch water main that is leaking beginning at 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 11. The location of the leak is 1759 E St Rd 54. The city asks travelers to use caution in this area. All repairs are expected to be completed by 6 a.m. on Friday, June 12. The city is not anticipating any water pressure loss or boil advisory.
