Hydrant flushing to take place in Linton beginning April 14

The Linton Water Department will begin flushing hydrants on Sunday, April 14. According to Ross Gentry from the City of Linton Gas and Water Department, the flushing is expected to take four nights for completion. The flushing will begin each night at 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning. All flushing activities should be completed at 6 a.m. on Thursday, April 18. Due to the process, city officials are recommending the washing of clothes be kept to a minimum during flushing periods as discolored water has been known to cause stains on white and light-colored clothes.
