Property tax statments mailed April 9

Greene County property owners should keep an eye on the mailbox as property tax statements were mailed on April 9 with the spring installment due on May 10.

Greene County Treasurer Samantha Mahan said statements will arrive in a white envelope. Spring taxes are due May 10, while the fall installment will be due Nov. 12.

“Taxpayers have several options to pay their taxes,” Mahan said.

Payments will be accepted Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the treasurer’s office, located in Room 130 on the first floor of the Greene County Courthouse.

Taxpayers can remit payments through mail by sending their payment and tax statement coupon to: Greene County Treasurer, 1 E Main Street Room 130, Bloomfield, IN 47424.

Taxes can also be paid at several local banking locations if taxpayers have their tax statement coupon. The following banks will be accepting payments: First Financial Bank in Worthington; Farmers and Mechanics in Bloomfield, Eastern, and Bloomington; and Owen County State Bank in Linton and Bloomfield.

Payments can also be remitted online at co.greene.in.us or by phone by calling 812-648-9166.

In addition, there is a drop box for payments located outside of the Greene County Courthouse.

If taxpayers have any questions, contact the treasurer’s office at 812-384-4378 or email  treasurer@co.greene.in.us.
