A 24-year-old Terre Haute man was arrested March 19 on a warrant for two felony counts of sexual misconduct with a minor following an investigation alleging he had multiple inappropriate relations with a minor as far back as 2020.

Greene County Sheriff’s Department Special Deputy Trista Myers arrested Timothy Donald Orman March 19 on a warrant for two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor. The warrant for his arrest was issued from Greene Circuit Court on March 18.

Jasonville Police Department Chief Ryan Van Horn first spoke with the victim on Feb. 22 when she and her mother came to the police department to report sexual abuse by Orman, her cousin. The victim, according to the probable cause affidavit written by Van Horn, said the incidents occurred between October 2020 and April or May 2021. The touching, the victim advised, was not consensual. She advised she had an old cell phone that might contain conversations between her and Orman during the time the abuse occurred. The phone was turned over to Van Horn on Feb. 22

The victim, according to the probable cause affidavit, said she would be more comfortable speaking with a female interviewer, so Van Horn placed a call to the Department of Child Services who set up an interview at Susie’s Place in Terre Haute on Feb. 26.

During 2020, Orman had come to live with the victim and her family. According to the probable cause affidavit, the first incident occurred on Halloween of 2020. She alleged she was woken from sleep to Orman with his fingers inside her vagina. She said she attempted to push her away with her feet but was unsuccessful. When he stopped, she asked him why he did what he did and he allegedly said he was rubbing on her, his hand slipped, and he didn’t want to stop. When the victim said she was going to tell her mother, Orman threatened to share personal information about the victim that she did not want shared.

A second incident allegedly occurred in December 2020. According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim told interviewers they were watching a movie and as she went to leave the room, he grabbed her shorts and pulled her closer to him, placing his finger inside her anus. The victim said she barricaded herself in her room with a mattress after the incident.

According to the probable cause affidavit, a third incident took place in February 2021 when Orman began rubbing the victim’s stomach. She allegedly advised him not to touch her vagina and hit him in the face. The victim alleged Orman then pushed her down on a bed and attempted to put his fingers inside her vagina. She moved around to get away from him but the bed hit a wall, making a noise. She said he stopped for a few seconds to make sure no one was coming, then attempted to put his finger in her anus. She said she moved away from him again; however, she alleged he eventually placed his fingers in her vagina.

The victim was unable to provide a time frame for a fourth incident; however, according to the probable cause affidavit, she said she woke up to someone rubbing the outside of her vagina. She told interviewers she did not see who it was; however, she believed it was Orman as he was the only one who had previously touched her.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Orman asked the victim to send nude photographs of herself. While she said she did, she said he also allegedly stole photos that were already on her phone. In the summer of 2023, the victim and a friend found the photos in Orman’s Snapchat account under the “my eyes only” section. She took videos of the photos and provided a copy of the video to Van Horn.

An interview with Orman was conducted at the Jasonville Police Department March 5 by Van Horn. According to the probable cause affidavit, Orman advised Van Horn he asked the victim to send photos in February 2021. He alleged he received the pictures, but deleted them when moving out of the residence in 2023.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Orman admitted to inappropriately touching the victim in February 2021. Orman alleged the victim stimulated his penis with her hand. In April 2021, Orman, according to the probable cause affidavit, told Van Horn he touched the victim’s vagina with his tongue. He alleged she did not tell him to stop, but later said she was going to tell her mother. At this point, Orman said, all activity stopped. Orman denied placing his finger inside the victim’s anus.

Orman told Van Horn, according to the probable cause affidavit, he took approximately 50 pictures of the victim without her knowledge – most of her butt or of her sleeping.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Orman admitted to placing his fingers inside the victim’s vagina 10 to 15 times and performing oral sex on her two to three times. He alleged she stimulated his penis with her hand the same amount of times he touched her vagina with his hand.

In a follow up interview with the victim on March 14, Van Horn advised her that Orman had disclosed an incident of oral sex in April 2021. The victim, per the probable cause affidavit, confirmed the incident did in fact occur.

Orman faces two charges of sexual misconduct with a minor, each a Level 4 Felony. After his March 19 arrest, he was transported to Greene County Jail where he was held on a bond of $30,000 surety with 10% cash allowed. He has since been released after posting $3,000.
