Earl ‘Frank’ Owen, 80, of Linton, IN, passed from this life, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, January 12, 2019, in Terre Haute.  He was born on September 14, 1938, in Sterling, KS, to Oliver L. and Edith M. (McRae) Owen.  On June 22, 1957, Frank married Elaine ‘Peggy’ (Ball) and they had 2 sons.

Frank was an EM3 in the US Navy.  He later became an electrician and was a member of the IBEW Local #725.  He retired in the year 2000 with 40 years of service. Frank was of the Baptist faith and a member of  the American Legion Post #22.  He loved portraying Santa Claus with his wife, Peg, by his side as Mrs. Claus. The entire community enjoyed the Christmas cheer spread by the Owen family. Frank’s leisure time was spent reading and fishing, as well as tinkering with old cars.

Family members left behind to cherish his memory include: his wife, Peggy; two sons, Jackie Owen and Bryan Owen, both of Linton; two grandchildren, Brittney (Jonathon) Rutan, and Ryan Owen & Dianna Broughton, all of Linton; and two great-grandchildren, Freya and Nolan; and a sister, Carolyn Ruth English of Indianapolis.

Frank was preceded in death by: his parents, two brothers, and 1 sister.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Rev. David Ball officiating. Frank will be laid to rest at the Linton Fairview Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites provided by the American Legion Post #22.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 15th, and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
